If they're similar, then it has been shown that symmetric PWM signals generate fewer harmonics in the output currents and voltages.

HINDI, you're right. The speed of a motor depends greatly on the supply voltage. V = IR + kw. At no load, IR is negligible, so, V = kw, where w is angular velocity of the rotor.
My colleague constructed one 3-phase grid connected power inverter. However, when he tested the module in lab, the main switchboard was tripped. Is it because of synchronization problem? Thanks.
