What softwares are suggested to simulate electrically small resonator?
I saw a paper published in Optics express in 2008 using CST.
Can FDTD handle it well???
You are from Zeland?
I am using IE3D to test my structure.

Re: Why there's a phase jump of S11 at the resonant frequen
What I am trying right now is to derive this phase from Zin.
And Zin = R+jwL+1/iwC
S11 = (Zin-Z0)/(Zin+Z0)
Hope I'm on the right track.
cam350 file to altium file
I met the similar problem.
But what i did is I export dxf from CST (make sure all ur structures at z=0),and import this dxf from ADS.And ADS can generate gerber for u. U need to make sure the unit is the same as that in CST before u click OK to import, otherwise the...
Re: Why there's a phase jump of S11 at the resonant frequen
Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I am comparing experimental result to CST simulation result.
In simulation result is showing in the picture attached.
frequency jump phase jump
Hi All,
I have a basic question - what causes the phase jump of S11 from -180 to -180 at the resonant frequency in a resonate structure.
(The resonant structure is equivalent to LC in series. )
In experiment, the jump is less than 180.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your replies.
This structure does being defined by perfect circles and has been united in CST. I export the structure to ADS using dxf.
"Convert to polygon" works perfect!
Thanks again...this saved me a lot of time!

The structure is a ring-like microstrip structure with a 90-degree tight coupled curves whose spacing is 0.23mm.
Substrate:
1st layer - the above ring-like structure, 35um thickness, perfect conductor
2nd layer - rogers 5880 with 2 vias that are 2D distributed model...
