Hello everyone,
I am currently designing two low noise amplifiers (which will respectively operate at ~20GHz and ~38GHz) with the same foundry process (D007iH from OMMIC). The transistors come as discrete chips (roughly 400x400x100 um) without via holes, the aim is to use inductive degeneration...
Hi everyone,
I am curently looking to design a medium power amplifier (200mW Pout @ 900 MHz) working in class AB for handheld devices (3.6V supply voltage) and my first choice was NXP's BFG21W. This one seemed to perfectly fit my requirements, unfortunately it is now obsolete and I am...
Hi all,
I am new to ADS and looking to simulate a RF power detector with a Schottky diode. I have created the diode model (see attached below) with all parasitic elements, but am struggling to simulate the whole circuit. Which solver/template should I use to do so ?
Ideally, I'd like to get a...
Hi everyone,
I am currently designing a matching network with DTCs (digitally tunable capacitors) and I am struggling to properly calculate the corresponding S21. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that it is not correct to simulate the matching network S21 in a 50 Ohm environment...
The "DUT" can be any cell phone from the late 90's to the latest smartphones (likeliest option though). I just can't predict where the receiving antenna will be located inside the enclosure, and how good it will "couple" with the emitter.
Thus I am wondering what I should use in the simulator as...
Yes that's correct.
As promised yesterday, enclosed are some pics :
These are pics of one of the prototypes, ignore the SMA conectors which were installed for tests and won't appear in the final product.
Looking at different websites I have found references for different cell phone couplers, all seem to be inductive.
Concerning the CMW-Z10 I don't know how much it costs but I guess it's way above what my employer is willing to pay for...
Are you talking about **broken link removed** ?
Ok but if it operates like a multiband patch, it's not likely to achieve decent performances within a metal box, is it ?
Well, let's say that I should have said "transfer as much energy as possible" rather than "communicate"...

Hi everyone,
I am a young RF engineer with 3 years of experience in antenna/RF design, and I am currently struggling with what I think is an uncommon situation (well, from what I have seen doing a little search on the web ). I am being asked to find a way to communicate with a cell phone...
