    LTC1966 RMS-DC Converter issue

Hi, I have an AC source where I want to connect it to LTC1966 to measure RMS voltage. 1. I am not getting the expected output. Can I use a battery (5V) as the supply voltage and connect my AC source to IN1 and IN2 of LTC1966 (no common ground)? IF NOT, 2. I have a 6-0-6 transformer which I can...

    Fibre Optic communication P2P

I'll describe my intended application in detail. I need to know the water level at forebay tank and it is used to control the gate valve of the hydro turbine. We do not have internet, mobile data transfer or GPRS. There are no signals at the site. Site is vulnerable for lightning strikes. That...

    Fibre Optic communication P2P

Hi, I have a requirement to send an analog signal (water level) to data processing center located ~1km away from the sensor. This area is prone to lightning and therefore I decided to use fibre optic cable to transmit the signal. I need to know what components will be needed to transmit this...

Setup WiFi Network for IoT application

Hi, This is an IoT application and I am looking for a way to connect the sensor to the cloud. Please find my hardware layout that I am trying to setup. I have no idea how to set up a Wi-Fi network (red square - "Wi-Fi Receiver" in the above diagram). If I can figure out a way to read sensor...

Zero crossing detection with common ground

hmm... I am not that educated in electronics as you are :) quite difficult to digest in the first place. anyway, I can understand up to some extent. I have to learn a lot... thank you so much for your helping hand

Zero crossing detection with common ground

Thanks. I'll keep these things in mind.

Zero crossing detection with common ground

Hmm... I've got a lot of inputs... Thank you everyone... Planning to try with the ideas and suggestions... Will post how it went...

Zero crossing detection with common ground

Hi Tony, I didn't get what you mean. Can you please explain a little bit more? I am planning to use LT1671. Regards, Lakmal - - - Updated - - - I can use a better alternative if there is. I am not constrained to use LT1671 :)

Zero crossing detection with common ground

I am planning to use LT1671 for zero crossing detection application. But I have a concern that there might be a grounding issue... LT1671 is powered from stepped-down voltage of V1. I need to measure zero crossing point of V2 signal - another stepped-down signal. Since I have to connect...

[PIC] Measuring time between two rising edges

Thanks for your replies. I am measuring two signals having frequency in between 45Hz - 55Hz. I would expect ±100µS accuracy.

[PIC] Measuring time between two rising edges

I have two square wave signals and I want to measure time between a rising edge of first signal and rising edge of second signal which comes after first signal's rising edge. I can XOR the signals so that it will produce a square wave having pulse width equal to what I want. But it will costs...

[SOLVED] AC signal processing in PIC

Yes I can calculate when it will be zero in advance. I am so confident now. Thank you all!

[SOLVED] AC signal processing in PIC

Thank you all for your valuable inputs. I will start building it and will post here with the results. My plan was shaped by your inputs and they helped a lot indeed

[SOLVED] AC signal processing in PIC

Yes V, f and Slip have to be matched. From the start, I wanted to know how to measure slip (phase angle) since V and f are adjusted to match the running parameters.
