Both Analog and digital telephone have transfer of the voice signal only...For the digital signal as o's and 1's of coding but the analog electronic pulse transmission of the voice signal...The main advantage as digital telephone signal because of the additional functionality of the actions...

Both Mac OS X and window OS are very useful but it have some drawback due to the overhead problem of the software installations or virus attack.. For your problem best way save your software through the backup software...
I also have the doubt for the connections of Bluetooth module and PIC.. But i have some idea about the connections.. UART interface has one of the approach for the connection of the Bluetooth device to the controller..... Because it have capability to manage all set of connections...
