Hmm your solution seems a fair bit easier. I was hoping that this could be used on future jobs as well so would be good to try and build a little machine.
Another idea was to buy a little Arduino and get that to send out 48 different binary signals of numbers...

I'm trying to build a simple portable speaker. The only power source I can find is an old drill and charger so I have decided to use that.
