Reconfigurable Frequency Selective Reflector design in HFSS

Could you please let us know more about the Frequency Selective Reflector? Is it FSS layers beneath a planar monopole antenna?

    Varactor power consumption

Hi Brian, Thanks a lot for your reply. I understand better. I have another question. To bias a single varactor in the flowing figure (a), what is the function for the capacitor? I cannot get it as a DC blocker.

    Varactor power consumption

Hi, normally there is a Power dissipation parameter provided by the manufacturer. For example, SKYWORKS SMVA1248-079LF, the maximum Power dissipation is 250 mV. - - - Updated - - - So no one cares the power consumption of a varactor? What if I use a large number of varactors with high...

    Varactor power consumption

Hello everyone, I am working on the calculation of the power consumption of a varactor diode. Is the power consumption rated to the reverse leakage current when the varactor is correctly biased? Thank you for the help in advance.

HFSS: The value for radius of surrounding sphere in Hertzian dipole source

if the patten is not so directive, maybe the HIS or PRS is not well designed. you may need to check the reflection coefficients of the unit cells using floquet mode in HFSS

HFSS: The value for radius of surrounding sphere in Hertzian dipole source

Hi fsky, Maybe you could give us the title of the paper then someone may find a clue. a)For the dipole, I would try the radius 0.01 wavelength as it may be convenient for fabrication? b)If the impedance matching is not good, it may not only caused by the dipole, you may need to refer to some...

Want to Simulate Antenna Reception - quadrifilar helical - HFSS

Hi Fred, I am doing similar projects as you. Could you please share your simulation model with me so I can verify my design? (gu.chao@msn.com) Thanks so much. Best regards, Chao:smile:

Why lumped element loading changes the electric length of an antenna?

Can someone theoretically explain why capacitive loading decrease electric length and inductive loading increase electric length? Are there any papers and books to explain this? Thanks in advance.

How can I improve the radiation pattern of a monopole antenna placed on finite ground

I am simulating a monocone antenna working on 2-6 GHz but the E plane radiation pattern seems tilted at 5GHz. I place the antenna on a skirt( Radius 37mm ) which I don't want to change. How to decrease the elevation angle? Many thanks.

how to measure a varactor using a VNA

Hello I'm working on measuring a varactor(Toshiba 1SV287FCT-ND) by using a VNA. I need to know the V-C and V-R character when operating at 2.4GHz. Can someone give me some details about the measurement? Many thanks. Here attached a sample figure.
