    Internet connection speed

    The speed that u see while downloading is given in KBPS(kilo bytes ps) and not kbps (kilo bits ps) [in both IE and firefox..and probably in all other browsers]..So I think ur connection is ok as 7 K Bytes PS ≡ 56 K bits PS -the max possible speed with normal dialup.

    awgn matlab there is an inbuilt awgn functon in matlab...so u can use it to add AWGN to the i/p sig.see help for usage else u can generate the complex awgn by simply rand(1,n)+j*rand(1,n) and then add it to your signal.
