Thanks FvM, I was think about such thing due to the huge advances Proteus already made. We draw a complete microprocessor system inside that tool!
And I am struggling to provide VHDL classes more atractively than only simulations. But we are facing huge restrictions in terms of financial...
Dear barry and dana, many thanks for your feedback.
I will post here two pictures to better describe what I am looking for.
The first one I call the common environment for work with FPGAs and the second one is the software that I am looking for.
Best regards
Please consider a hypothetical software with two sections:
The first one being a copy of an IDE, like ISE, Vivado, or Quartus with at least two windows: edit code window and processes (synthesize, implement, generate bitstream, etc) window
And the second one, below the first one, with a virtual...
I already visited this site and I thought it was a bit polluted, asking for registering and I skipped it.
Wrong decision
Pretty interesting!
Thanks Danna!

I am looking for an online, free-project online VHDL simulator.
I found some stuff that we need to install, e.g., freehdl.seul.org, but I noticed that a lot of online tools that are microprocessor related are available.
If you guys know about some tools, please share here this information.
Thanks
Just an update:
1) I changed the visualization from ascii to hexadecimal and gtkterm shows me a zero byte, #00 each time I run the application.
2) I tried also with minicom and putty. All of them behave the same way, i.e., nothing is showed on the screen.
I have a Xubuntu guest on a Windows 10 host and I need to establish a serial communication between my notebook and the microcontrolled external system via serial connection.
The notebook side is an USB port and the system side is a true serial DB-9 connector.
The whole system works in the...
Please consider the following correction:
"If what I think is correct, is the state diagram below equivalent Moore´s version?"
instead of
"If what I think is correct, does the state diagram below is the equivalent Moore version?"
Thank you guys for your feedback, but I am also interested to hold the current know-how in this area.
So, even if the final cost of an academic board become higher than another external one, such work would be useful for my group. I will describe one issue about burocracy that I will have to...
I´ve read a closed topic called Want to make a FPGA board. It was an interesting discussion.
I am also interested to develop a low-cost FPGA development board but some of its features are distinct from the one purposed on the closed topic.
Why I am interested to build a low-cost...
Hi berry,
thank you for your reply.
Yes, the imply operator produces the same effect as the A' + B.
What I am looking for is any combinational circuit that regularly employs the "imply as an imply operator".
An example: we usually prefer to express A XOR B instead of A'B + AB'...
Almost all of the 16 possible logic 2-variable operations can be exemplified with some kind of what I will call here as a medium/high-level circuit.
Example:
A XOR gate can be presented with half/full-adders.
ANDs, ORs, NOTs, NANDS, NORs with its several applications (mux, demux...
