Hallo
I try to design PIN diode attenuator and the problem is that in every version I've tryied the attenuation was nonlinear dependent to control voltage or current. Dependence of attenuation vs conrol voltage (current) MUST be linear in this design, and that is my problem. Maybe some one of...
Re: the S2P file gives different results thanthe nonlinear m
S parameters should be more accurate (especialy if you measure it by yourself using TRL calibration), but they are accurate only for one bias conditions and one temperature.
Nonlinear model is less acurate, but it can be used in...
Hallo
Some advice:
1. Decrease islands area. You propably have too big capacitance to the ground, and for 5GHz you have shorted circuit to the ground
2. Make your board as small as you can. (In RF area)
3. Do some drills to GND in source area.
3. Connet DC supply by SMD inductors or SMD...
show me schema and bouard picture. then I wiil be able to advice you more.
I haven't been loged in. I havent seen that picture.
I'm not suprised taht this don't work.
So few advice:
about measuring DC characteristics:
You should have proper RF load and source impedance to have transistor...
You should ask more precisely. In other case this is a subject for another corse.
About transistor. I did 10W wide band power amplifier using BLF1822-10 (so I thing you did good choice) and WJ FP2189 and WJ FH1. But this was 50Ohm amplifier. You can try the same way.

Hallo
I have never seen the way of counting P1dB like you have written. So I can propose you to use "load line theory" to count output power. You can find some informatuion about it here...
50ohm and 75ohm standards are definded by coaxial background. In coaxial cable when Zc=75ohm there are minimum insertion loss. Maximum transmited power can be achived when coaxial Zc is about 33ohm. 50ohm system is compromise between minimum insertion loss and maximum power.
In TV cable systems...
5w pa 400mhz
Don't afraid looking for best Zin and Zl by yourself. It isn't as hard as it look like. It is good to use some trimmer capacitors and air coils to tunning this circuit.
Another thing I heaven't written befor about highering IP3 is Zl for second end third harmonic. It is also...
400mhz pa matching
In theory you can achieve the lowest intermodulation distortion workind in class A amplifier, but in class A you can get low efficiency, max 10%, so that causes big problems with power dissipation. BLF1822 and another LDMOS transistor for high power usually are prepared to...
high efficinecy 400mhz amplifer
You can use Philips transistor BLF1043 or BLF1822-10. This are almost the same transistor, but BLF1043 is in smaller case. I used BLF1822-10 to 10W 20-520 MHz power amplifier. I thing this are very good transistors.
You can heve big problems with heat using...
how to choose rf choke
I have seen two diferent ways of solving this problem. One is to make a few inductors on the same ferrite core, but one inductor is clock wise, next one counter clock wise. I thing that because of saturations of ferrite core. There are also resistors between this coils...
Hi
I need to make RF choke for 5-900MHz for high current about 12A. My question is: what kind of ferrite should I use. Maybe someone of you has a good paper about making RF chokes?
