OK, I solved it myself. to people who would have this problem:
Ubuntu 11.04
go to software center->look for x.org x window system->click on more info -> and select all add-ons
reboot system and your problem will be solved!

d12's data sheet has an incomplete schematic for data exchanging.
the rest of pins are connected in this way:
rst-> vcc (ou can use a 1-10 K resristor)
sus->Gr
EOT_N->Vcc by a 4.7K
EOT_N->Gr using a 1 M Res.
Ack_n->Vcc
there is no need to connect other pins

what do you mean? there is interrupt register and by reading it you can find it out which kind of transfer is performing. please let me know a little more details.
