How to make a cheap custom android device?

I prefer to build it by myself, I want to learn from it :) The reason I thought about Android is because it's already secured and gets security updates. I suppose that Linux may be also OK for my purpose. Any recommended hardware? raspberry pie is an option - will RP zero do the job or I need...

How to make a cheap custom android device?

Hi all, I am interested in making my own cheap basic Android portable device for a hobby project. What I need it to do is to have a data-only 4G connection (with SIM card) and allow me to use it only for surfing the WEB (Chrome), Gmail and messaging apps. I need it to do well these tasks, but...

[SOLVED] Timer IC that doesn't reset count because of power down and remembers last state

The accuracy is not very important to me, and a resolution of hours is also good (of course that minutes or seconds is even better). Interesting Looks very close to what I need. Thanks you all for your answers, it gave me good hints for what I need to look for!

[SOLVED] Timer IC that doesn't reset count because of power down and remembers last state

Hello, I'm looking for a timer/RTC that will count how long the system power was up in total and will toggle a pin after a specific time that will be configured in advance. Does a timer that "remembers" exists? For example, on the first time that the system is powered up for 2 hours, after...

    Frequency threshold controlled switch component

    Fair enough. Thanks

    Frequency threshold controlled switch component

can't = I don't want a DC signal on a trace that directly opens a MOSFET, even if it's created by a frequency. I'll try to explain it differently. Let's say that it looks like this: IN --------------|___|-----------OUT | | FREQ So the logic will be: if (freq>50kHz) OUT = IN else OUT =...

    Frequency threshold controlled switch component

Thanks for your answer. I need it as a DC switch with a separate port for the frequency (like the gate in a MOSFET). The input frequency (PWM) should be 0-3V and powered by the input DC that is switched or an aux supply of minimum 3.3V. An ASIC is not an option, but a multicomponent circuit...

    Frequency threshold controlled switch component

Hello, I'm looking for a component that "knows" to switch a power trace with up to 2-2.5A and up to 15V (7W if it's important) according to an input frequency. In order to explain - I can do an analogy to a MOSFET that instead of a Vgs(th) it has a frequency threshold. This "switch" should...

Optocoupler as current measure sensor for uA currents

Correct. The only problem is that I can't provide this 4.5-5.5V supply voltage Vdd1 in a stable way, so "passive", or only secondary side supply components are maybe better for me. Thanks

Optocoupler as current measure sensor for uA currents

Thanks Brian. 1. The capacitor charges to the target voltage in ~20-30ms, so I think that a transformer might not do the job. The capacitor discharges to 0V in a slow rate (> 1sec, I can configure it). 2. After some simulations, I seethat the current range can be increased to be 80uA-4mA. Higher...

Optocoupler as current measure sensor for uA currents

About 600V - it's a one-shot flyback capacitor charger, so after charging is finished it starts to discharge and I'd like to monitor it on-board in an isolated method and send by some interface (I2C, SPI...). The problem is that I don't have any stable DC voltage in the high-voltage-side and it...

Optocoupler as current measure sensor for uA currents

Hi, I'd like to measure currents of ~20uA-2mA using an optocoupler. The problem is that I never find how the optocoupler works under low uA forward currents. I need it for an isolated measure of the current in the secondary side of a flyback where the only voltage I have is the output voltage of...

Looking for Flyback/PWM controller with external oscillator only (no internal)

Of course. The problem is that they don't differ between the normal SYNC option (that uses a configured oscillation frequency when there's no sync signal) and the one I'm looking for, like in the LT1241 and MCP1630) where you can stop the regulation when the external signal stops. I didn't find...

Looking for Flyback/PWM controller with external oscillator only (no internal)

And BTW, are there more controllers like the LT124X (or its TI twin)? I prefer something with a minimum input voltage of 3V

Looking for Flyback/PWM controller with external oscillator only (no internal)

This is very helpful. Concerning the LT1241, I see that in simulation it actually stops when the square wave stops. How does the duty cycle of the clock affects the controller? Does it limit the the duty cycle of the internal oscillator like it does in the MCP1630? Thanks a lot!
