    Question about Microchip CAN transceiver

Thank you for your help. I have already saw those different pins on the datasheet. For all the rest of the compatibility I think I will try this chip on my real project and see how it goes. Thanks

    Question about Microchip CAN transceiver

Hi, I have a project to communicate with a CAN bus on a vehicle with bus speed 500 Kbits/s. I am using Microchip PIC18F25K80 and the Microchip CAN transceiver MCP2551. Now I found that Microchip also has CAN transceiver ATA6561. Could I replace MCP2551 with ATA6561 ? From the datasheet it seems...

    [PIC] PIC18F25K80-I/SS Very strange problem

I have been testing a lot more now and I think we found the problem. Using a 12 Volt car battery as a power supply the CAN bus communication always work correctly. And we were testing the system on the bench using a DC Power Supply. We think this power supply might put some electrical noise on...

    [PIC] PIC18F25K80-I/SS Very strange problem

Hello, First of all I want to thank you everyone that will try to help me solving this problem. During last years I have been developing projects for Automotive applications using PIC18 products. Since the projects need CAN communication with the vehicle I have been using PIC18F25K80. We have...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

Yes, that is an easy solution. But that solution requires 2 pin´s from the PIC and I only have 1 free. I think it requires 2 pin´s. The first as an analog input to read the voltage at the pin with the ADC function. Second pin as an output to control the gate of the transistor or mosfet. Right ?

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

Hello everyone again, Today I have tested these solutions presented here and both work fine. I will use the solution using the TRIS bit of my PIC pin to switch from 5V to 8V and produce the signal that I want. However it is important for me to have a solution to prevent a circuit failure if the...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

Hi betwixt and crutschow I also think that both solutions are correct. Anyway I have ordered some missing parts to try the various solutions you presented to me. I am very thankful for that. I will receive the parts tomorrow, I will test the solutions and analyze with the oscilloscope. The...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

My circuit only needs some mili Amps. So, I will be using a LM317LZ with 100mA max output. I tested now on my bench with a 12 Volt voltage supply, if I create a short circuit to the ground on the LM317 output it will drain 170mA for some time. I waited more or less 30 seconds until I saw some...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

Thanks for your help. I will try your various solutions during this week on the real circuit and see which one is the best for me. In your opinion how can I protect this circuit from short circuit to ground ? If I have the LM317 producing 5V or 8V, then this wire has a short circuit to ground...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

FvM and crutschow many thanks for your help. I have been reading LM317 datasheet and it also seems a very good solution, as you suggest. I will buy all components needed during this week and try the different solutions proposed by you. Also another question... I would like to protect the the...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

KlausST many thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. I have not thought about the schottky diode solution. It seems a good solution. I will try it during next days and report here. Again, many thanks for your help. I love programming PIC´s and make some electronic projects, which is...

Circuit problem. Not getting 5 Volt on 7805 output

Hello, I am developing a circuit to have power and communication on the same wire. So, I thought about a digital signal that would vary from 5 Volt to 8 Volt. This way I am able to send signals to another processor and at the same time power that processor. All working good with the second...

[SOLVED] 5V to 12V with two transistors. Don´t work.

I have tried a 10K resistor between Base and 12V. Same result. Always 12V. I think I will read a book about transistors :) Transistors are always a confusion. - - - Updated - - - Problem solved. 10K resistor between Base and 12V in BC327 (like you said) and 100K resistor in BC327 base instead...

[SOLVED] 5V to 12V with two transistors. Don´t work.

Hi, I want to control a 12 Volt output with a microcontroller PIC18. The output of PIC18 is 0V or 5V. I want to convert it to 0V or 12V. I have searched a lot and the cheapest way to make it is with two transistor. The 0/5 Volt output controls a NPN transistor and this one will control a PNP...
