I've heard that the port impedance measuring is not reliable in HFSS except you take care of any situation individually from your experience and skills. which is only applicable in case you almost know the result. I have the same problem for finding the port impedance of a microstrip balun.
Re: Spiral Antenna
Pls explain your design title more specific.
There are a lot of ways to design different spirals. which parameters are more important for you?
Re: faster simulator?
but I found XFDTD terribly bad with geometry definition and it makes it really useless for complicated structures.
Do anybody know a method of importing geometry from a different tool?
tapered microstrip
Thank you.
I'm considering how it will be if I design two Klopfenstein tapers. The fist will do BALUN by fixing the strip width and changing the ground plane by the way you suggested (I still hope I find some calculator on the web!) and ending up with parallel equi-width...
smith chart balun match
Thank you I'll try to do it but there is one thing about length: I'm splittingthe balun to two parts. the first is the tapered microstrip and the second is parallel stripline. Shall I take the total length λ/4 or each of them? i.e. λ/2 totally.
My own tough is testing...
microstrip balun design
Thank you for your hint but I didn't understand completely.
You mean I make a parametric taper? I'm using HFSS.
Would you pls make it more clear.
Thanks in advance
microstrip balun
I'm designing a wide band microstrip tapered BALUN using Klopfenstein optimum taper.
The usage of BALUN will be feeding an archimedean two-arm spiral so I need to match 50 ohms unbalanced coax feed to ~150 ohms balance antenna.
My thought is to split the Balance to Unbalance...
There are several type of antennas by mean of radiation method. one type is transmission line type antennas which can be precisely modeled this way. But there are many other types (like antennas who couple to the air by progressively changing the impedance) which could not be modeled easily and...
hfss +64 bit
Thank you. I'm going to switch to VISTA-64 and I'll upgrade my RAM to 8GB.
But I'm not sure if I can have its benefits without a 64-bit edition of HFSS.
Any body can help? how much I need to pay for 64-bit upgrade of HFSS and how if I want to go for ver.11.
Currently I'm using ver...
hfss on 64 bit pc
I'm running HFSS 10 on VISTA 32-bit with 4GB of RAM(actually about 3.2GB usable because of 32-bit OS).
Does anybody know how could I increase the memory limit?
There is no booy.ini in VISTA! :?:
Hi,
I'm looking for literature on Antenna Dispersion analysis and/or compensation methods specially for uwb antennas. Any help will be appreciated.
There is a workshop text from Schantz on the issue but I couldn't find it anywhere on the web. any body got a copy?
Thanks in advance,
Dear All,
I'm looking for phase characteristic correction (linearization) in UWB antenna design (especially planar ones). anybody can help me finding resources over this task. I've searched IEEE and there are few papers regarding this subjest and none of them is enough for me.
