I'm actually quite new to RF filters but I'm curious about why most of us (my collegues) design system using passive filters rather than active filters. Is there a guide on active filters applications? Or transceivers performance are better then using passive filters?

What is Volterra series analysis? and how is this helps in optimizing a frequency doubler?
What does this means "Apply Volterra series analysis to your circuit to derive the closed loop transfer function" to a frequency doubler operating at 100MHz?
