Guys,
If a buck converter is operating at FPWM continuous mode, will it still operate if the load current is low in which it can enter discontinuous mode?
Usually we design the inductor needed to be 1/3 of the Iload max in order to have a good trade off between eff and transient response. If i...
Thanks guys. Ive changed my mind in using varactors... Do anyone know about BST caps? Where can I buy that one? Do ther come in discrete pakages like normal caps?
Hi,
I want to use a speciifc notch filter using a tank circuit from input to output(series). If I wanted to tune the tank using varactor, back to back diodes, how can I connect the positive polarity of my supply assuming I connect the neg polarity at the middle on back to back diodes(reverse)...
Hi mtwieg,
just a thought in measuring ripple with 50 ohm input term of the scope vs. 1M input term for forced PWM CCM buck...Isn't it the ripple is also unaffected of
AC loading(DC loading is disregarded since I'm using a series dc blocker)due to 50 ohm input term because ripple doesnt change...
That's a good explanation..actually im evaluating forced PWM CCM mode...I think ripple mainly depends on inductor current ripple, ESR, and switching frequency. Even if you changed the DC load(dc offset), the inductor current ripple(depends on vin and vout, inductor value and switching freq) and...
Dear experts,
If changing the DC/ave load current of the buck converter, does it affect output ripple? Why or why not??
I measured and it doesnt affect the output ripple of a buck converter with changing load current(not ripple current)..please give the best explanantion.
calling all experts , anymore critics about the 50 ohm? is output ripple more accurate if it was measured at 1:1 attenuation with 50 ohm cable terminated at 50 ohm input scope or standr probe with 10:1 attenuation termonated at 1M input scope???thanks!!!!
thanks guys. I also used that coax with 50 ohm input termination at scope end(of course AC coupled using an external DC blocker) and it works well...I see that It doesnt load or affect the switcher load in AC terms since I'm measuring on the output capacitor for the output ripple. because the...
hi,
which one is preferred method on measuring output ripple fo switchers, output capacitor probed with a 50ohm coaxial terminated at the scope of 50ohm or using with 10:1 oscilloscope probe with 1M input termination(tip and barrel method)?
I saw one article that measuring outout ripple should...
Thanks FVM. Have you tried measuring PSRR of LDO? Can you please give me detailed tips. I'm using the exact evaluation board and its components as with its datasheet of Hittite board.
