But what is strange is that I run the same examples projects in different version of hsim (2.0, 3.0, 5.0, 6.0)
5.0 and 6.0 gives a larger simulation time in simple netlist, almost cost me twice time.

In SOC package, you can do anything you need in the back-end process, even including synthesis via Ambit.
For AMD XP systems, update the kernel to kernel-2.4.20-xxxx.athlon
You will experience about 5% to 10% performance improvement.
For P4 with FSB800/HT/socket478, you "must" update your kernel to smp-2.4.20-xxx.i686 to enable your Ultra DMA IDE Harddisk.

The hardware supporting is so poor that it makes your installation

RH 7.3 with updated kernel can let you use the hardwares of the main

In my experience,
RH7.3 with updated kernel (2.4.20-28.7 or higher)
is the most recommend-worthy.

PLease set your BIOS configuration to the "most baisc" platform.
Do not use SATA. use only PATA
P4+I865 will run well on RH7.3 and RH8
