Thanks Lisa,
Yes, it was hard to figure it out, the solder joint on the other end looked like it was ok, it was shiny and popping out, and when I added new solder to all joints, i didn't reallize there was a hole there since I didn't **** out the excess before.
When you do reballings, do you...
Hey people,
As I said earlier, can't get my hands on an osciloscope just yet, but I do know someone who told me he has the same hantek usb one I was thinking on buying, so when he can meet we'll get our hands on it. On the meantime, I'll do what I can with the DMM.
Schmitt, could an in-built...
right, I see, and when you swapped 2 wires it was the end of primary with an other secondary end right?
(dark clouds around my head) I don't understand... i thouht transformers principle was a wire, both ends connected to mains (for example) wrapped around a core, induces a voltage on an other...
Hi guys
I don't understand a few things about how you did these testings.
If I may ask, how many terminals does that transformer have? does it have center tap on both windings or only on secondary?

also, when you say you connect primary and secondary in series, how do you...
Hi klaus,
after a late night and half a morning of research i couldn't find an official webpage or it's manufacturer.
What I did find instead is a 10x package for sale on alibaba of the same mosfet, only in a different package, a bigger one (FQP16N15). The original was one of those tiny smd...
the reason the fuse didn't blow is there WASN'T a fuse there, I guess it was wired together with solder wire, and by excessive heat it just melted. It doesn't look like there was any sparks or any explosion, there's no blackness anyhere, just some wires that did'nt even look like they had to be...
I know it's a dumb question and that google is my friend, but I have no studies in the matter and I'm not the most sociable person either, really.
I looked into threads like ""Transistor equivalents" By mickthemend in forum Service Manuals, Requests, Repair Tips (Replies: 3 - Last Post...
SUCCESS!
Once the transformer was case-free I couldn't see much untill I cut open the two first layers of insulation tape and carboard, and found what appeared to be an open circuit. I was expecting to find a fuse there, and hopefully some reference. I made a little extension using electric...
Okay, looking for this fuse i found that there is none, but i have found what looks like a open circuit before the terminal, will try and solder it, test conductance and plug it in series with a light bulb, see what it does.
Audioguru, you are right. It is a cheap piece of garbage and it works poorly, but when it did work it was just what i wanted, a light, low power amplifier and speaker all in one. I don't expect miracles on this thing, but it did work once, and i want to repair it mostly to learn, as I do with...
ok, I'm back home allready, cut the case of the transformer open, effectively the green wire does go to the middle. I can't read continuity even in the solder joint on the actual transformer, so as you said, Brian, I guess it's cut off a few mms inside, under other windings before the two wires...
I have this "AVL" active speaker. No info on the net whatsoever, can't even find to buy one alike.
Anyways, it has this issue, it sounds VERY distorted, even at low volume, and it affects both low and high drivers. I have to say this had happened before and it fixed itself up one day, and a...
whoa! what a quick response!:shock::shock:
Well Brad, that is correct, there is no continuity on the gnd pin from the transformer, I guess that would be the center tap. I never checked power input pins on the mixer though, or with the actual mixer connected to the transformer either...
Hi everyone, first thread here :P
I have this mixer console a friend asked me if i could have a look at it, and i'm a bit dummed out with it, hoped someone could give me a hint where to aim.
I believe the console is a yamaha mg102c and what happens with it is I plug it in, hit the switch, and...
