'Uncrackable' communications code developed

by errakeshpillai on 6th September 2013 at 09:28
A team of British scientists have reportedly discovered a way to build communications networks using quantum cryptography and impenetrable codes, crucial for sensitive electronic data transfer.

With increased threat to sensitive electronic data being vulnerable to attacks, the impenetrable systems are based on communication systems in which the information is carried by individual photons and once the photons of light are observed, they change and cannot be intercepted by an ' eavesdropper'

IBM stores a bit on only 12 atoms....!!!!!!

by errakeshpillai on 18th January 2012 at 16:07
Moore’s law states that the level of technology and computing power should double every two years, and so far the postulate hasn’t been wrong in more than 50 years. A group of IBM scientists have now managed to develop a data storage technique which allows for information to be stored with as little as 12 atoms, thousands of times less atoms than it is currently required for a single bite. Gordon Moore, the Intel co-founder, would have been proud.

Storing a single bit of data on a

The emerging storage memory - Magnetoresistive Random-Access Memory

by errakeshpillai on 4th January 2012 at 13:15
Magnetoresistive Random-Access Memory is a non-volatile computer memory (NVRAM) technology that has been under development since the 1990s. Continued increases in density of existing memory technologies – notably flash RAM and DRAM – kept it in a niche role in the market, but its proponents believe that the advantages are so overwhelming that magnetoresistive RAM will eventually become dominant for all types of memory, becoming a true universal memory.

Unlike conventional RAM chip

RFIDs - A technology to watch out for

by errakeshpillai on 18th December 2011 at 05:24
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) uses "tags" to identify objects. Tags can operate passively, without an on-board source of power allowing them to be paper-thin and smaller than a penny. Tags can be active, with a battery power supply, allowing them to operate at longer ranges. Merchandise, portable equipment, vehicles, and people have an RFID tag to allow them to be identified and located.

RFID technolgy was thought of firstly to replace the Bar code system

LCD interfacing with 89C51

by errakeshpillai on 23rd October 2011 at 04:52
I am working on my final year project "RFID based Access System"..

Here's the code to interface the LCD with 89C51..

Code:
#define cmdpt P3
#define datapt P2
#define q 100
sbit rs = cmdpt^0;  //register select pin
sbit rw = cmdpt^1; // read write pin
sbit e = cmdpt^6;  //enable pin

void delay(unsigned int msec) // Function to provide time delay in msec.
{
int i,j ;
for(i=0;i<msec;i++)
