This authoritative reference manual provides a complete description of the C language, the run-time libraries, and a style of C programming that emphasizes correctness, portability, and maintainability. The authors describe the C language more clearly and in more detail than in any other book.

I think that now, embedded systems have a incredible complexity and build them in bare metal way is so hard and expensive (because of lot of bugs and time consuming fixing bugs), so a Operational System or a Real Time Operational System is a great piece of software that can help and decrease time-to-market.
