Communicate in matlab

hi guys...

how can i communicate through matlab?
the scenario is i will command the stepper motor to move through the matlab.... i am using a shift register and a max233 and a rs232

you can send the command to some micro controller from serial port and if you code micro-controller in such a way that the command can control the stepper motor....

or u can control motor by parallel port and control in motor directly by matlab code if u don't need so many input and output pins to your project
 

I am looking for matlab code for lte-a
how can i start matlab programming about lte and lte-a?
 

i m tottaly new in matlab. i just install matlab r2007..can anybody suggest or provide material for learning matlab?
