libelf.so.1 cadence

Hi Everyone,
I just want to know if it is possible to install IC4141 on Ubuntu 8.04 without any hassle, and if not what needs to be done to make it work.

ubuntu libelf.so.1

if you want to work in ic design, rhel or suse is recommended.

glibc_2.0 ubuntu 8.04

IC5141 works well on Ubuntu 8.04. But when I install ic5141, I have to modify a script -- add some options to command "tar". I don't think this is connected to Ubuntu.

After installation ic5141 on Ubuntu 8.04, there are some works to do: If you want to run "cdsdoc", maybe you should modify the script file; if you want to run DRACULA, may be you should install some additional packages with apt and create a symlink under /usr/lib (I forgot what's the name, just symlink a newer version to a older version).

libelf.so.1 ubuntu

hi, you sayed that IC5141 works well on ubuntu 8.4. Can you explain how you install it? in particular how you solved the problem of libraries:
symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
how do you fixed it? thanks

64bit executable version of virtuoso not found

I didn't see this error in my system.
Code:
uname -srvmo
Linux 2.6.24-22-generic #1 SMP Mon Nov 24 18:32:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
icfb -W
sub-version 5.10.41.500.5.98

ubuntu libelf 32 bit

This depends on which version of IC5141 you have installed.
Only with the latest IC5141USR5 you don't get the GLIBC_error, i.e. i succesfully installed IC6.10 on fedora 10, and everything works fine with few tricks.

libelf 32 ubuntu

Hello.

I would like to know if anyone have a working installation of IC6 on a Debian system?
I'm trying to install it on Debian Etch or Lenny but gives me a library problem...the libelf library. Even with this library installed in the correct place it still gives the same erro :(

libelf.so.1 cadence

I also succesfully installed IC6.10 on Ubuntu 8.4 but with this version of cadence the tecnologies i use don't work because they are in different archive format, is this a solvable problem?

libelf 32bit ubuntu

I think the reason that IC6 does not run in my Debian systems is because it can not find the 64bit version of virtuoso. The system tries then to use the 32bit version but i don't have any libs for it :(

The warning is:

WARNING: 64bit executable version of "virtuoso" not found... the 32bit version will be used instead.

Because of this warning, to make IC6 work i needed to install the 32bit libs elfutils and libXip.

I download IC6 directly from cadence...does any one know why the InstallScape fails in installing of the 64bit?

That mus be because IC6 uses OpenAccess? I do not know if that is the cause because i am still having issues in installing IC6 on Debian.

---

I already managed to get IC6 on Debian.

I was able to get from a CentOS system the lib file libelf-0.97.1.so and copied it into my IC6 directory. Then did a symbolic link in /usr/lib32 like the following

ln -s $CDSDIR/libelf-0.97.1.so libelf.so.1

It was also necessary to to the same for the libXp.so.6.2.0, doing a symbolic link from libXp.so.6 to it in /usr/lib32

After all environment variables configured, it was just necessary to type virtuoso and IC6 started :)

Hope this helps to anyone with the same problem.
