We are using the SBRT25U80 Schottky diode in a three channel switch mode Buck led driver with a 510W load. (Vin = 48V)

SBRT25U80 schottky diode datasheet…
**broken link removed**

There are cooling fans in the enclosure and unfortunately a large amount of dust and grime ends up getting blown over the PCB.

The anode and cathode pads of this diode are just separated by 0.82mm, and we fear breaching of this gap by dirt and grime, and subsequent short circuiting. Is it possible to get a coating of insulating film sprayed over this diode, (rather like conformal coating) such that the grime won’t ever get between the pads. This diode is cooled by vias in its thermal pad, so I presume that a very thin coating coating of insulator over its plastic body won’t make it heat up too much.

Do you know what kind of insulating films can be sprayed over the diode to achieve this?

Hmm thought there was no fan. Polyurethane is better low hygroscopic than silicone coating. Brush on as req'd

there are 6 different enclosures, some have fans, some don't.
