I have a query regarding selection of SerDes ICs. I need to select an IC which is compatible with 3 formats - 24bits, 32bits and 27bits.

MAX9275 - Just a sample IC datasheet in the MAX SerDes GMSL family.

My question -
  1. Can someone tell me what those 3 formats are and what they mean
  2. And how to search and find that information in the datasheet attached above
Any useful tips and information along the way regarding this question will help me a lot to select a particular IC in the MAX SerDes IC family.

Hi,

1) which 3 formats are you talking about?
24, 32, 27 bits? If so: You gave this requirement. So where do you have it from?

How I'd do it:
* talk to the person who gave the requirement.
* learn SERDES basics. Internet search, or directly at a SERDES IC manufacturer.
* use the SERDES IC manufacturer selection tool or distributor selection tools.
