Hi,

This is a nonsense circuit. At least without values, voltages, timing, connection..

There are many proven Mosfet gate drive circuits.
There are dedicated ICs
There are application notes
There are design examples
And a lot more very informative reliable informations.
Why don't you use them ... why do you use random, incomplete, not documented schematics?

Klaus

That cap is a speed up capacitor to increase NPN switching speed.

Google "speedup capacitor bipolar npn", a number of discussions.

Regards, Dana.

Hi
Whats that circuit ? If you wanna drive a mosfet with pulse or pwm or sth , there are lots of good options available for instance ics like ir21xx series or perhaps transformer drivers or maybe totem pole circuit or ....
Why that circuit ?
