We have P4BWA mother board. we recently bought it.

http://www.commell.com.tw/product/SBC/P4BWA.HTM

We have one ISA slot card previously working with windows 98.
The software with it is 32 bit.

one chinese site says it works with windows xp.
http://www.nju520.com/bbs/dv_rss.asp?s=xhtml&boardid=9&id=10461&page=1

注意:因为原DAAS32不支持WindowsXP,如果在Windows XP下运行DAAS32,请用Windows98兼容模式。

The software works ok but the card is not recognized.
we think this card is not PNP.
So it has to be set manually.

The manual says :
The default setting in ISA slot card is 358h-35Fh

Address of Converter
Board Selects the address range of the DAASâ32 converter
board. The normal setting is address 358h-35Fh. If this
setting leads to address conflicts with other boards the
range can be changed by setting jumpers on the converter
board. If the jumper setting does not correspond with the
setting under this menu heading, the error message "No
answer from converter board..."appears.
The following address ranges are possible:
· 1D8h - 1DFh, Jumper setting: J1 . . J8 = 0 0 0 1 1 0 1 0
· 2D8h - 2DFh, Jumper setting: J1 . . J8 = 0 0 1 1 0 0 1 0
· 320h - 327h, Jumper setting: J1 . . J8 = 1 1 0 0 0 1 1 1
· 350h - 357h, Jumper setting: J1 . . J8 = 1 0 0 1 0 0 1 1
· 358h - 35Fh, Jumper setting: J1 . . J8 = 1 0 0 1 0 0 1 0

How to get this card configured?

waiting for help/guidance in the matter,

It is definitely not plug and play.

Turn off the PC and remove the ISA card. Restart the PC without it.

Go to device manager and on the 'view' menu select 'resources by type'. Expand the Input/Output list.

Now, look down the list until you get to the addresses (they are in hex, and sorted in ascending order) that are available to your card (in your list). Pick the first (or any) range that is not in use already, and set the card to that. It might be the default, it might not.

Shut down the PC, reinstall the ISA card, and restart.

Go to the program's menu and find where it allows you to enter the IO range used, and do so.

That should be it. If the ISA card uses DMA or IRQ, you need to do these as well; the process is similar to the above. Just check all that apply to you.
