I am trying to make a good classification of data acquisition systems. What would your ideas be?

I found some classification in this What is DAQ article where they classify them as:

- Turn-key DAQ systems -> e.g. embedded with out of the box SW
- Do it yourself DAQ systems -> e.g. Labview based

I am sure there must also be some kind of other classification... Any suggestions?

Possible classifications :

Precision
Speed
Channels
Networked, Ethernet, Blue Tooth, Wired, RSXXX, Serial
Low Power
Synchronous
Isolated
Intelligent (Channel control, timed, triggered...)
Sensor Conditioned

Regards, Dana.
