How to obtain the 1536bytes?

Hello to all,

I have a question: In order to compute the size of the IP packet datagram, we take always the maximum value is 1536 bytes. I don't know the origin of this value and how to compute it?

Please if any person has an idea about that, says me.
It is urgent.
