Hi

when HFSS is calculati,g i see that it uses a lot of RAM and very little CPU around 10 -20 % , why is that ? shouldn't it use maximum of CPU ?

thanks

depends on complexity of your simulation I guess.
what were you simulating? & what is machine config?

For using all the CPU cores you must have a multi-cpu license.

wow. I heard this first time!!
what is multi cpu license?
how to know that the version you have multi cpu license?

I do not know which version of Hfss are you using, but all the details should be in the
license.dat file, located in your admin folder.

Generally speaking, HFSS is very memory hungry, part of the reason is that it is a finite element method program resulting in huge ( but sparse) matrices.

During simulations, monitor your swap file usage, you need to monitor if you are using swap space.,

Ideally, use Quad core CPU with 16 GB of Ram and WIndows 64 bit.
