Drive Strength(for standard cell)

Hi Friends,

I having a doubt about designing a CMOS circuit(example : 2 input AND gate) with drive stength of 1x.
Can anyone explain clearly explain how to design a 1x, 2x ... CMOS design with example.

I just want to know what are the imporatant factors to be taken care while designing the circuit.

And also suggest me some related materials regarding this issue.
