hi,
this s shobana.i did b-tech cse but now i tuk m.tech vlsi design in sastra.can any one help me to get clear in the basics of this field.and wat is the job scope for my subject?

Hi....

VLSI is a good field and you have good carrier too...Basically it consists two designs ASIC logic design(front End) and ASIC Physical Design(Back End)....Please go through this below link...You will know what is front end and what is back end
https://www.cs.umbc.edu/~cpatel2/links/641/slides/lect01_flow.pdf

There are good opportunities in VLSI...But you should have minimum knowledge regarding tools(Synopsys IC compiler, DC Compiler, cadence,etc...)...Search you self in google about these...You will know why they are used...

Hi shobana;;;
VLSI is a good field to work and u get good returns also...
U have to decide on whether to join Digital VLSI or analog VLSI.
Digital u have to do some VHDL coding and in ANALOG u have to know all basics of devices..tuf but good scope..

All i think is u should be perfect in SPICE and CADENCE ...since in industry cadence is used mostly...i am also new to cadence i am also learning cadence (in my Mtech) and started the group Cadence Design centre join it...to know more
