I am an independent Contractor, I purchase my Cadence Orcad Allegro licenses as Dongles (EMA-EDA Orcad)
I maintain one Maintenance agreement so I can occasionally use Cadence online support data and get updates.
Recently I needed to move my Allegro Pro CIS (Non-maintenance) to my laptop.
This was unable to work due to being off maintenance. The result is I found that you need to have an updated
License file in order to reinstall software, move to a new machine, wipe you hard drive, etc.
Not exactly fair due the fact that I purchased the software and not rented it.
