3 axis stepper motor system for x-y-z motion.....

hi friends ...

I would like to know how to implement a 3 axis motion based on stepper motor ....
Do we need 3 different controllers to drive 3 such motors ..The basic question is suppose we need to have all tyhe x-y-z motion simultaneously.....Then how do we implement it with one controller is it possible?
