I'm fighting with the problem for setting clock in proteus for PIC24. I've tried all the cock source options given but the simulation is runnig very very low speed.

Can anybody suggests how to set the oscillator clock for PIC24 in proteus?

Thanks in advance.

Setting the clock speed in Proteus is a matter of editing the schematic component for the PIC and typing in the value beside the 'Clock Frequency' property.

The very last thing you want to do is hang an oscillator off the pins. The simulation model will ignore it and it will cripple simulation performance.

We do it this way both because simulating the oscillator is rarely of any interest to the development/testing of the system and also because the overhead involved in doing the math on a fast oscillator is huge.

If you need the components on the schematic for physical PCB layout further on in the process, edit them and select the 'Exclude from Simulation' option.
