Dear All

how to convert a schematic to PCB in protel, i know how to edit in PCB and how to draw, but how can i make netlist like in OrCad

Re: Protel enquery

Protel calls the process of making a netlist "compiling". You need to "compile" the schematic to generate the netlist that will be used by the PCB Editor.

Once you have compiled the schematic, you can "Export" the netlist to a separate file if you want. You don't have to produce the separate file unless you plan to use it in some other software.

Re: Protel enquery

1. First create a new PCB document in the same project as your schematic.
2. In the Schematic Editor, go to Project>Compile PCB Project xxxxxx.xxxx
3. The errors an warnings for the electrical check will be shown in the "Messages" panel. Double clicking on an item will bring up the specific node where the problem was found. Double clicking on the node in the popup panel will hightlight it on the schematic.
4. Once the errors and warnings are corrected to your satisfaction, go to Design>Update PCB Document xxxxx.xxxx.
5. An Engineering Change Order (ECO) panel will open that lists all the updates to be sent to the PCB. You can accept or reject whatever you want from this panel.
6. Click on OK, and the changes and netlist are automatically sent to the PCB.
7. From the PCB Editor, complete placement of components, and either manually route or autoroute the board.
