If you have some budget to spare, consider PNA. R&S also worth consideration.

If you definitely want 8720 class machine, consider Anritsu. They offers much lower price with similar performance.

Network analyzer

I checked the agilent PNA series N5250A, 10 MHz to 110 GHz Network analyzer. How much it costs?

Network analyzer

Mr. clk how did you able to get the price from agilent's website. Can I also get the price of other network analyzers.

N5250A

I just RECEIVED THE "HIGH FREQUENCY ELETCTRONICS" MAGAZINE
and there is an ad For the NEW N5250A 10 to 110 Ghz

BASIC MODEL it costs ......................$366,331
there is another version up to 64 Ghz

HOW THEY GET SUCH AN ODD PRICE?

here are the specs

64 TRACES
16,001 points per channel

BOY! $366K is a little more than the new Lamborguini !

Anritsu also makes an NA that covers up to 110 GHz for about 20% less money. Note that both the Anristsu and HP N5250A are not power levelled like the soon to be discontinued 8510XF. I am seriously considering getting the XF because of that. One problem that I have seen from all
these NAs is that there can be a phase glitch as the NA switches bands internally from coax to wr10 at around 65 GHz.

If $366k is too much, consider buying Oleson waveguide heads and retrofitting an existing 8510. That is also the only way to go past 110 GHz right now. You need two synthesizers though, so it is still over $100k.

Also, any existing software written for the 8510 won't work for the PNA series. That's another nightmare I see looming.

Do you mean the 'phase glitch' is related to the unlevelled power or not?
