recently I have setup the system at least 5 times, but I still can't make sure which is a better one,ubuntu7.04 is very good but it does not fit for the older edition of cadence, the surface view of redhat seems to be not friendly, which system are you using if you are in good feeling using the system, please tell me,thanks

I use redhat enterprise, and it works fine. this is the only supported version of linux. However, if you don't like its interface try suse 10. check this topic on how to install and configure the tools on suse

Best regards,
sakr

I have noticed your message from my email, thank you Sakr, you are so kind,i will have a try in suse10

LINUX RHEL 2.1

My frend tested different Linux both for Cadence and Mentor. He recommended to me Suse 10 - if I am going to run only Cadence. It is quite new and has no problem with Cadence.
For Mentor Suse 10 has some problem.

According to Cadence website, IC5141 only support LINUX RHEL 2.1 , why take the risk?
