Info about simulations with the MAC layer of the WiMAX

Hi,
i am doing a 3weeks internship on the QoS of the MAC layer of the wimax network. i am supposed to do some simulations but since downloading some of the simulation software is hard, i'd like to do it on matlab,which i already have installed. Has anyone already done any simulations with the MAC Layer of the wimax and if so, could u please let me know what you did..the thing is i just have 3weeks and since networking is a thing am completely new at, i dont even know where to start....so if anyone knows of a website or anything that could provide me with information to fully understand this and to look at already done simulations so i can have an idea of what i am to propose for my project...please let me know...thanks alot!

thanks but what i actually need is to try out some sample examples on the QoS of the MAC layer so that i can have an idea of what to propose for my project.
ps:i'm using the ns-2 simulator

If you just need some example of QoS in MAC layer, you may try to find some modules in ns2. Also, I know in OPNET, they provide a sample of WLAN. You may have a look.
