Which package to buy for managing VHDL projects?

please i want to buy a good package to manage VHDL Projects

please suggest a package to buy

Xilinx ISE

Mentor Graphics HDL Designer

Aldec Active HDL

Altera Quartus

or other


please tell me which is the best and why
and which can manage complex projects
and which is the easiest to learn and deal with
and which doesnt generate a lot of errors

i think xilinx ise is good bcoz as iam using that i felt good working with it.also its efficeint tool to implement and design in fpga, in my view. look for other sugessions also.

What do you mean by Package? Do you want to simulate and synthesize your projects or only for project management and design entry?

If you're looking for a Design Entry/Synthesis tool...then Xilinx ISE and Alter Quartus II are good. These are only for FPGA's. If you want a good project management tool as well as HDL Editors, state machine editors, block diagram, code linting...etc..except compilation and synthesis...you can go in for MentorGraphics HDL Designer. When using HDL Designer..you have to link the tool with other simulation, synthesis and P&R tools..such as ModelSim, Xilinx, Synplify Pro.

HDL Designed also has CVS and Code linting and a host of other features...I suggest you check out the Mentor Graphics website for more info...

Which Package to buy

interesting question... It is also depends how many people in your team, how complex is your projects, what other EDA tools your company is using... What do not give a call to rep and disscuss with them what you need and what you can afford
