Im in the process of making a set of arc hid-li-ion mountian bike lights, because i just cant justify spending $700 on them. You can buy a li-ion battery pack for lights, but that alone is $300, so i figure, a laptop battery will be my cheapest bet. I have a set of homemade dual beam 15wX2 halogens with a nicad battery with built in charger, but they were my first attempt, and they do the job, but the battery pack is taking up too much room and is very heavy.

so now to my questions; are li-ion battery chargers different then nicad?
does the power storage ability of a 6000mah battery require a different charger then say a 3000mah?
Say i pick up a laptop battery charger that is 11.1v 6000mah, can it be directly hooked up to the 11.1 6000mah battery, instead of sending it through a laptop without causing any damage?
i think those are my only questions thus
