connect adc to fpga

Could anyone help me to find out how to connect an ADC(AD9860) to FPGA.

connect spi with fpga

use SPI interface of ADC to connect with FPGA for data read and write operation.

can i connect ADC directly to FPGA xilinx Virtex 4 LC? if I can't connect directly, what kind of SPI interface that i must use. is SPI interface a hardware/ic or a way to connect ADC toFPGA
