how to add teardrops to pads in cadstar

hi all,

Can anybody help me out in how to use teardrop in Zuken.
i need a complete process of putting teardrop.

thanks,

Ricky

zuken cr5000

Zuken is a company.

If you want us to be specific about this, what program and version are you wanting to use that Zuken make?

Cadstar ?
CR5000?

how to add teardrop in Zuken

Ah, cant help then.
Cadstar is my program of choice.

I would suggest reading the help files, it is in there for cadstar so I expect it ought to be for CR5000.

hi,
went through the help file but the result was not satisfactory.
could you explain how you do it for Cadstar.
that might help.

thanks,
ricky

OK, in Cadstar I would route the board as normal, using the Route Editor (PREDitor) for a single track connection to a terminal block.

Then I would return to the Design Editor (Cadstar) and select the track that exits the terminal block pad, I would tick the boxes to "add teardrop".

Then, when going back into the Route Editor, it now has the information needed to auto add teardrops to tracks when I have it turned on (routing options).

however, I still prefer to manually select and add them so I can determine where they need to go myself.

ok this is one way but the other one which i was looking for is:
gonig to PREditor and then in the configure >> attributes we select the tear angle attributefor particular pad code level in the level column but i am unable to go further on it
this method if you have ever used is what i want to know.
thanks and regards.

Hi Ricky,
You can do it from configure >> attributes also.

For that you need to make teardrop definitions from design editor as Cyberrat said.
1- when u make teardrop from design editor, software stors teardrop definition(its angle etc) as TD0,TD1 so on.
2- Then IN Preditor u assign same teardrop definition to other pad codes by configure >> attributes>>Pad code level
3- IF you want different angle teardrop, again u need to assign in design editor.it will store as TD1.
4- after assigning teardrop definition to pad code ,there are two ways for creating teardrop.
>> first u route the design ,then from Routing->create teardrop.
>>Second,if u want online teardroping then from Routing options->add teardrops. So as u will route ,it will automatically create teardrop.

I hope ,i am not missing any steps.this is the process we follow in Cadstar.
Hope it helps.

Hi Ricky,

Today only i seen that with the PREditor XR1.7AA,Zuken has modified the attribute dialog settings. So,in the attribute editor itself ,you can define different teardrop definitions. You need not to move back to design editor.

similarly for C50000.

It's still easier and quicker to do it in design editor.

It's not as if your going to add teardrops to ALL pads, surely only add them to terminals etc where there is a chance of track breaks etc.

hi cyberrat,
thanks fo your help but i am required to put teardrop on every pad.
the method explained by abhi 002 is perfect . i am using that.
thanks once again every body for your replies.

Hi Rick,

You can Create Tear drop in Design editor for single pad as well as full board.
Go to the placement/wiring Tool>edit>post-wiring Process>Parameter option> Generate>Target > select teardrop>select pad or track or layer or full board for tear drop

you can change angle and length as per ur requirement from Parameters Option.

Thanks ,
Mayank
