I have been using ELDO since I moved into electronic industry. I have heard that HSPICE has a lot of convergence problems. I have virtually seen NONE so far in using ELDO.
Has anybody found a convergence problem in ELDO thus far?

eldo convergence problem

I used ELDO for a couple of years before moving on to HSPICE and now SPECTRE. It's true that it's rare to have convergence problems in ELDO. Setting the accuracy options in HSPICE can achieve the same results.

Sachin

Hi,
Hspice is the industry standard, but it has some arithmatic problem.
ELDO improve its arithmatic and has the fast and accuracy than hspice.

Best regards

eldo to hspice

Typically, ELDO used to be faster and runs more smoothly. However, starting from 2006.01 release, convergence becomes ELDO's nightmare. I had to switch back to HSPICE again.

spectre vs hspice eldo

So which one is better for Mixed-Singal simulations or for gate-level simulations for ASICs?

ads vs hspice

You can use spectre.spectre's convergence is good.

eldo convergence

hspice have Linux/windows version .. how about ELDO simulator ??

Re: ELDO vs HSPICE

I have used 2006.2 and 2005.2 versions of ELDO/ADMS for mixed signal simulation....
Convergence is a big issue with eldo .... tool really sucks i feel ..... But if ucan make sure that at full chip level u dont have any open current sources, power pins to an extent we dont get convergence issues.

But particularly during development phase it is very difficult to ensure most of the things.

ELDO vs HSPICE

hspice is better for small analog cells for more accurate simulation. eldo is better for SOC.

None, Eldo have better convergence performance than hspice
