Help me run a Matlab GUI

hi to all

before some day ago i had download one GUI from the board...also its mat code is included in that

i would like to know that is it necessary that MATLAB must be installed to run my GUI...and also that GUI is might not working

can anybody help me regarding that?????????

Yes if it is MATLAB GUI then u need MATLAB to execute it .

u will have a filename with extension .fig ... type the name of that file without extension in the command window

see basically when i runs that GUI extention file at that time one screen appears and in that scrreeen there are four blanks space

one is asking abt Mobile number second one is for SNR, third one is for noise paramenter

and when i m typiing anything in my this blanks space it doesnt shows me output

how it works?????????..plz give me a step by step direction for it

well i dont know if i answer ur question or not but some things should be kept in mind regarding GUIs in matlab

1. U cannot run the matlab file made on higeher version on lower versions, i.e. file made in matlab 7 will not run in matlab6 or lower versions.

2. to run GUI u need not to have Matlab installed but there is GUI tool which should be installed in the pc. ( i forgot the package name but its comes along with matlab and is installed by defult when installing the matlab)

3. Some time there is not only one file for running GUI, u may have called functions in the code of GUI.
