hai every one
what is the exact difference between non return to zero(nrz) and return to zero(rz) wave forms.
which will be having more probabilty of error ........
or bit error rate..........

Re: nrz and rz

If we consider interms of waveforms only, NRZ does not come to neutral state, i.e. zero state, rather when its logic "1" NRZ codes are 'HIGH" and when its logic "0", NRZ codes go to "Negative" level. There are many types of NRZ codes like unipolar, bipolar etc, but eseentially these are line codes in telecommunication. While RZ codes, go to neutral state whenever there is drop of the pulse.
I hope i answer your question.

Re: nrz and rz

I think RZ is having more BER than NRZ.

Manchester is having very less BER compared to other line coding schemes.
