hello pips,

Can anyone help me about the monitor. It is samsung syncmaster 3G. I have 2 two units here. 1st problem is Whenever I on the monitor the lid goes green but there is no display. I check already the HOT the and the other parts including the flyback its ok but still no display. 2nd is when I turn the monitor on the lead stays green even without the connection from the CPU but same no display also. Where should I check? What is the possible damage. Pls. Help me anyone pls.

Thanks

monitor

Usually if the LED stays green it only means that there is a valid sync pulse being detected on the VGA cable. It does not mean that the monitor is actually displaying anything or that the display circuitry works.
With the first unit, are the heater elements illuminated on the neck of the picture tube? If not, then no picture for you! Look for broken solder joints on the picture tube socket or broken solder joints on the flyback. Do you seem to have high voltage? If so, then you probably lost the boost voltage that is driving the output transistors to the color guns. Look for the driver transistors on the PCB on the picture tube neck and follow is back to their DC source. If there are any large electrolytic caps on this PCB, they are probably open from the heat, replace them.
The 2nd unit seems to more of a challenge. If the unit believes that it has active sync when it does not, then you probably need the schematic to sort it out and you may need to replace the specialized controller chip that runs this circuit.

You may also check if one or both relays gets a signal. If so, replace the relays.
If not, keep troubleshoothing in that area.
