biasing circuits

Hi,

Any one telll me what does biasing circuits mean?

Where can i start learn about them? I wanna go gradually to learn them, so give me simple explaination about them before giving list of text books to read :D

Thanks and regards,

hi friend,

One of the most fascinating subjects in active electronics (tubes/transistors, as opposed to resistors/caps/coils) is biasing. Biasing is the static voltage and current settings for a given device for certain functions of operation.

thanking you,

biasing circuit is used widely in analog circuit design to bias circuit in proper operating point. let sat if you design opamp, all the transistors must be biased in saturation mode because in this mode we can get large gain. example of bias circuit is voltage reference circuit, current mirror/sink/source. it depend on your applications. hope my explanation briefly introduce what is bias circuit to you.

hi knack,
In electronics every active device, ex. transistors, needs a contant dc current and voltage on it to work properly. Setting this current and voltage level and giving it to the device is called biasing. Biasing determines a device's operating point. What i meant by operating point is: for ex. by bias level you can change an amplifier's gain, output swing (allowable output voltage range before the amplifier goes into saturation), and all of this concept is related to device's operating point: in the plot of a I-V curve (voltage-current relationship graph) of a device operating point is the intersection of dc voltage and dc current.
It is an easy but fundamental topic of electronics. You can first begin to look at transistor biasing basis, to get a more understandable view for this topic.

A good book for the topic Biasing Circuits ( BJT & FET ) is
Electronic Devices And Circuit Theory by Louis Nashelsky & Robert L. Boylested .
The book clearly explains with examples different biasing circuits and is definetely worth a try .

Hello fried,
You visit the site 'http://www.ele.uri.edu/Courses/ele343/lectures/index.html' & you will find so many materials on biasing.

Thanking you,.

Thank you all for your reply,

Any one can upload a lecture notes, presentation, or quick tutorial explain in more details and descriping this issue?
The page you gave malaya.nath to me contains very easy basics.. i'm not newbie in electronics circuits, i just wanna lean about the analog design term "Biasing" :D

Thanks and regards,

baising is required for active circuits, Donald a neamen's book is good to see baising
