i want to make a circuit that generates a sine wave with a specific freq.
how can it be done ??

Re: sine wave generator

You want to make a VCO? i.e. programmable output frequency?
Or you seek fixed frequency?
What about the linearity you seek?

Good Luck,
Ahmad,

Re: sine wave generator

yeah I seek fixed frequency
but I don't know wat u mean with linearity ??

Re: sine wave generator

Linearity can be expressed by the amplitude of fundamental freq. component (freq. you want) relative to adjacent second harmonic freq. component.

Linearity is the best if your oscillator has only single fundamental component..

You can make a simple sinusoidal oscillator using a 555 oscillator and simple LPF..

Depending on frequency.. This can give you relatively lwo freq. (up to few hundereds of KHz).

If you seek higher frequencies, you will go to XTAL or LC oscillators..

Hope that helps..

Re: sine wave generator

hi.to design a sinewave generator, the crystal oscillator would be the obvious choice.most of the applications use this.

sine wave generator

you can make it with a chain of inverters. it's very easy!

Hello

An simple circuit is the Wien Bridge

You can find in this forum

Re: sine wave generator

I haven't the circuit but the idea is put a band-pass filter in the output of the 555 (pin 3) when this is in astable configuration

Re: sine wave generator

If your frequency is as low as 90KHz, then you can go with one of 555 astable oscillators that're available free online, and choose your R's and C components values, untill you get the required freq. of oscillation..
Then Simply cascade a low pass filter with output of this oscillator (pin 3).. Make sure that cut-off of that filter is close to the required frequency..
