I want a simple circuits of regulated supply which can convert 48v-60v DC supply to 24v DC capable to deliver load of 0.5 to 1A with minimum power loss by using linear/switching regulator eother fix or adjustable type.

Sorry, I don't have a direct answer to your question. But here's an alternative. You could buy a power supply module such as this one: **broken link removed**. There is a version that takes 36-72Vdc and outputs 24Vdc, 25W.

Re: Help Needed

Hey

You need a DC to DC convertor, a buck DC Convertor, it is not that tricky.

Search the web

Take care

With a 60Vdc input it's a little tricky. It wouldn't be the most trivial buck converter. If you think that it's not that tricky at all, could you post a schematic and/or identify some parts?

Andy, it just occured to me that you might be able to build your power supply out of a well heat-sunk LM317. It's linear, and it will be inefficient, compaed to buck. But it's simple, and you can build it quickly. Circuits are described in the LM317 datasheet.
