can MMSE only be used for flat fading channel?

can MMSE only be used for flat fading channel for equalization ?

it can work for frequency-selective channel but give poor performance !

MMSE is rely on statistic's property of channel if it not vary too fast (flat-fading)

this kind of estimator can give verywell result.


In frequency-selective channel it better if use somekind of adaptive filter to track

the channel characteristic .
 

MMSE can be designed fro frequency selective fading also..u can refer LMS RLS algorithms from Proakis
